Fidante Capital names head of corporate finance

Fidante Partners’ international capital markets business Fidante Capital has appointed John Armstrong-Denby as head of corporate finance in its London office.

Armstrong-Denby – who will report to global head of Fidante Partners Cathy Hales – will be responsible for leading the corporate finance team, supporting origination and execution of transactions, as well as provision of strategic and technical advice to investment company boards and their managers.

With over 18 years’ experience advising and investing in listed investment funds, Armstrong-Denby joins the firm from the corporate finance division of Edmond de Rothschild, where he worked as managing director responsible for advising clients on strategies to grow AUM in listed and unlisted fund offerings, while also providing proactive strategic advice to fund boards. Prior to that, he held senior positions at various companies including ING Bank, Intelli Corporate Finance, and ABN AMRO Hoare Govett, and started his career working at the City of London Investment Group.

Cathy Hales, global head of Fidante Partners, said: “Armstrong-Denby is a skilled adviser who brings deep knowledge of the listed investment funds sector as well as broad relationships with companies and boards across the industry. It is an exciting time for Fidante Capital, with the team recently supported the listing of Augmentum Fintech plc on the London Stock Exchange by acting as sole financial adviser and bookrunner and joint sponsor. We feel confident John will be able to build on the current momentum.”

John Armstrong-Denby added: “I am really impressed with Fidante Capital’s recent achievements and the future vision for the company. We are looking to bring further depth and scope to the existing experience within the corporate finance team, to give us added firepower as we look forward to a busy and successful 2018.”
