Fidelity Worldwide Investment has announced the expansion of its fixed income investment team with the hire of Sajiv (Saj) Vaid.

Arriving at Fidelity in August, Vaid will join Fidelity’s fixed income team.

Vaid, who is currently co and lead manager on three corporate bond funds with over £2bn in assets at RLAM, will work alongside Ian Spreadbury as co-manager on Fidelity MoneyBuilder Income and Fidelity Extra Income funds. Spreadbury will remain lead manager across both funds.

Andrew Wells, Global CIO, Fixed Income, Solutions and Real Estate at Fidelity Worldwide Investment, said:  “Our fixed income team and franchise continues to go from strength to strength in terms of both performance and capability. The arrival of someone of Saj’s calibre is testament to this and a clear signal of how we will continue to develop our fixed income business by developing our own talent, and hiring the best from the market at the same time.”

Ian Spreadbury adds: “I’m delighted Saj will be joining to work with me on these funds. His style suits mine and I think we will make a great team. I am fully committed to all the funds under my stewardship.  These are large funds that continue to grow in popularity and it’s important that as the funds grow, we add support to the team that sits behind them.”
