Five Oceans replaces JP Morgan to run Skandia global equity
Skandia Investment Group (SIG) has appointed equities manager Five Oceans Asset Management to manage its $350m global equity fund, previously run by JP Morgan Asset Management.
Adam Smears, head of investment research and portfolio manager at SIG in the UK said the decision to use Five Oceans Asset Management was informed by their high conviction portfolio, their effective use of derivatives and hedging strategies, and the weight given to environmental, social and corporate governance in their research.
Smears said: “Five Oceans Asset Management are an experienced firm who deliver outperformance beyond the broader markets by having an absolute return mindset. In reality this translates to a portfolio filled with high conviction names, with the commensurate volatility managed through an adept use of derivatives.”
