Franklin Templeton boosts sales team in UK
Franklin Templeton Investments has appointed Mark Dunn as the new head of discretionary for the UK.
Dunn will join the firm on 1st April 2014 and will be based in London where he will report to Alex Brotherston, head of UK retail sales.
Dunn will have responsibility for fund distribution within the discretionary channel and for managing the discretionary sales team, the company said. He will work alongside Mark Elliott, head of UK advisory who joined the firm from Blackrock last year.
Prior to Franklin Templeton Investments, Dunn worked for Carmignac Gestion where he was sales director for the last two years covering UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Ireland.
Before that, he was head of strategic business development at LV Asset Management where he was responsible for managing the advisory team and developing strategic alliances. Previous to LVAM, he held positions at FundQuest, Insight Investment, Lombard Odier and Fleming Asset Management.
Commenting on this recent hire Alex Brotherston said: “This is another milestone for us as our senior retail management team is now complete. I am very pleased to welcome Mark Dunn on board. Mark brings with him over 24 years of experience in the asset management industry and I look forward to working with him and growing our market share in the discretionary channel.”
Ian Wilkins, UK Country Head at Franklin Templeton Investments added: “This is an exciting time to join Franklin Templeton Investments. Last year, we made some key distribution and investment hires, as we continue to build out our UK team in line with our strategic objectives. Mark Dunn is very experienced and he is well placed to add immediate value.”
