Hermes appoints infrastructure partner
Hermes Investment Management has appointed Robert Wall as an infrastructure partner.
Based in London, he will report to to Peter Hofbauer, head of Infrastructure.
Wall will have responsibility for originating, analysing and executing investments as well as governance of portfolio companies.
In addition, he will join Hermes’ infrastructure investment committee.
Wall joins from the Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) where he has worked for the past nine years in both Toronto and London.
He was there a member of the infrastructure investment team, responsible for executing large scale direct infrastructure investments in multiple jurisdictions.
He has been a board director of major infrastructure companies in Europe and Australia whilst a member of the CPPIB infrastructure team.
Formerly, he was a civil engineer in the UK and New Zealand.
Peter Hofbauer, head of Infrastructure at Hermes Investment Management, said: “Robert’s in-depth industry experience and deep understanding of direct global infrastructure investment will help us continue to serve our clients interests and grow the business from the current £3.9bn (€4.6bn) of assets under management (as of 19 May 2016).
“He brings significant and highly relevant infrastructure investment experience that will supplement the high calibre of experienced individuals that make up the existing Hermes Infrastructure team.”
Hermes Investment Management has £26bn (€31bn) of AUM.
