Hermes Investment Management has announced the appointment of Eoin Murray as head of Investment Office. Based at the company’s headquarters in London, he will report into Chief Executive Saker Nusseibeh.

Murray will lead the Hermes Investment Office, which is responsible for issuing the ‘kitemark’ given to all new investment strategies at Hermes.

Further to this, the investment office is responsible to clients for the teams’ adherence to the processes which earned them their ‘kitemarks’, as well as for monitoring the continued delivery of risk-adjusted performance.

The head of Investment Office sits alongside the head of Private Markets, head of Equities, head of Fixed Income and head of Responsibility as the senior investment leadership team.

With over 20 years’ investment experience, Murray joins Hermes from GSA Capital Partners. He was previously Chief Investment Officer at Old Mutual and also held senior positions at Callanish Capital Partners LLP and Northern Trust Global Investments.

Saker Nusseibeh, Chief Executive, Hermes Investment Management, said: “Eoin’s experience and stature as a Chief Investment Officer reinforces how central the Investment Office is to our offering as an investment house. Alongside the recent appointment of Ian Kennedy as Chief Operating Officer, Eoin’s arrival demonstrates the high calibre of experienced individuals that Hermes is continuing to attract.”

Murray added: “Hermes operates at an extremely high standard; striving to deliver superior, long-term, risk-adjusted returns responsibly. I am thrilled be joining this dynamically growing organisation and to working with a first class team.”

Under the leadership of Hermes’ Executive Committee, Saker Nusseibeh as CEO, Harriet Steel as head of Business Development and Chris Taylor as head of Private Markets, Hermes has significantly increased its third party assets, from 8% of revenue in January 2012 to approaching 40% as at December 2014.
