Invesco Perpetual promotes Bhatti to deputy fund manager
Invesco Perpetual today announced that Asad Bhatti has been promoted to deputy fund manager of the Invesco Perpetual High Yield Fund, joining co-heads of Fixed Interest, Paul Causer and Paul Read in the management of the fund.
This promotion recognises the valuable contribution Bhatti has made to the fixed interest team for more than a decade; working closely with Paul Causer and Paul Read as a senior analyst. Asad’s specialism is high yield and he has played a key role in generating investment ideas and opportunities for the Invesco Perpetual Fixed Interest funds.
He covers a number of key industries, including retail, consumer, packaging, travel, mining and building materials.
Asad joined Invesco Perpetual in 2002 as a fixed interest credit analyst before progressing to senior analyst, and now to deputy fund manager. He began his investment career with Arthur Anderson before joining Abbey National Treasury Services.
Paul Causer, co-head of Fixed Interest, Invesco Perpetual said: “Asad has provided the team with high quality and expert analysis for more than a decade and his input has contributed immensely to the success of the fund and the wider fixed interest franchise.”
Originally launched 14th May 1999, the Invesco Perpetual High Yield Fund has been managed by the Henley Fixed Interest team since June 2001. It moved to the new IMA £ High Yield sector in March 2009 and since that time has generated a total return of 170.88% against a sector average return of 96.47% with assets under management of £130.8m. The fund aims to achieve a high level of income together with capital growth over the medium to long term.
