Investec AM lifts head of wholesale from Aviva as it creates London WM team

Investec Asset Management (Investec AM) has appointed Alasdair Prescott to its 18 strong UK advisory business in a newly created role, bringing together its regional sales and strategic partnerships teams.

As head of UK Advisor & Strategic Partners, Prescott will lead Investec Asset Management’s strategic partnerships, sub-advisory relationships, and the firm’s dialogue with clients across its regional UK footprint.

Rodger Kennedy, currently a sales director at Investec, has been appointed head of London Wealth, and will be responsible for managing the firm’s engagements with London based wealth managers, private banks, national wealth managers and global financial Institutions. Both Prescott and Kennedy will report directly to David Aird, managing director, UK Client Group.

These moves follow a series of hires and promotions within the UK adviser business, designed to cater to the future requirements of the firm’s growing client base and build on Investec Asset Management’s 20-year presence in the UK Market.

Prescott joins from Aviva Investors where he was head of London Wholesale Sales, representing the firm’s product suite to key UK discretionary clients including financial institutions, multi-asset and fund of funds, private banks and family offices. Previously he spent over six years at JP Morgan Asset Management managing relationships with key UK discretionary clients as part of his extensive experience in senior client-facing wholesale sales roles.
