Investec W&I adds to private client team
Investec Wealth & Investment has appointed Rob Jones, Darren Elmes and Steve Hart as Senior Investment Directors to the Bournemouth office.
Reporting to Scott Jones, head of IW&I’s Bournemouth office, Jones, Elmes and Hart join from Barclays Wealth’s Bournemouth office where they were Directors and long-term colleagues.
Jones has been the Director in charge of Barclays Wealth’s central south offices since 2003. This involved opening new offices in Bournemouth and Southampton and broadening the client offering from traditional stockbroking to full service wealth management.
He began his career at Lloyds Private Banking in 1988 before joining Capel Cure Sharp (latterly Gerrard and then Barclays Wealth) in 1995 as an Investment Manager.
Elmes also started his career in 1986 at Lloyds Private Banking in Bournemouth where he became an Investment Manager. He joined Capel Cure Sharp’s Poole office (latterly Gerrard) as an Associate Director in 2000 and was promoted to Divisional Director in 2002.
Following Gerrard’s acquisition by Barclays, he moved to the Bournemouth office in 2008 and became a Director of Barclays Wealth in 2012.
Hart began his career at Richard Chubb Love Rogers in Salisbury in 1986 and remained there through a series of takeovers and mergers by the National Investment Group, Capel Cure Sharp, Gerrard and ultimately Barclays.
He became head of the Dorchester office in 1998 and following Barclays’ acquisition was appointed to lead the development of its Private Banking team for Wales & West region. He was promoted to Director in 2009.
Commenting, Scott Jones said: “I am delighted to welcome Rob, Darren and Steve into our Bournemouth team. They bring with them significant experience in managing portfolios on behalf of private clients as well as charities, trusts and pension funds.
“Working closely with our existing team, they will play a key role in expanding our presence in Bournemouth and throughout the South West. These appointments build on IW&I’s success in expanding its investment teams across several of its UK offices.”
