Investors are taking steps back into the market, says BlackRock’s Stenning

Tony Stenning, head of UK Retail at BlackRock, comments on the October IMA fund statistics.

The IMA October figures reveal investors are taking steps back into the markets, in particular into the equity asset class. Our research, BlackRock Investor Pulse survey, revealed three in 10 (32%) advisers believe their clients have become less risk averse in the last 12 months and over a quarter (26%) of advisers will be encouraging clients to take further steps into equities, indicating that this trend is likely to continue.

A staggering three quarters (77%) of advisers are concerned that their clients are holding too much cash and the shift into equities in the better part of 2013 suggests that, with advisers’ encouragement, investors are making the steps needed to help their long-term financial health.
