Kames Capital launches Diversified Income Fund
Kames Capital, an Aegon Asset Management company, has launched the Diversified Income fund for institutional and retail investors seeking income and capital growth over the medium term.
The fund will invest across multiple asset classes, including bonds, equities and alternatives, and rely on Kames’ multi-asset allocation experience, and be managed by Vincent McEntegart from the multi-asset team.
The fund will rely on an active allocation strategy across five ‘income engines’, including investment grade bonds, high yield bonds, global equity income, UK equity income and alternatives, Kames said.
The initial allocation will be 21% to high yield bonds, 19% to investment grade bonds, 23% to global equity income, 14% to UK equity income, 22% in alternatives and 1% in cash, with income distributed monthly.
Kames said that the fund is aimed particularly at investors reaching retirement, who are beginning the de-accumulation phase and are looking to provide themselves with income. It will also target defined benefit pension schemes, particularly those that are maturing and becoming net payers of cash, and hence are looking for income producing investments.
