Legg Mason delivers Brandywine Global income fund to UK
Legg Mason has launched a fixed income fund in its UK onshore fund range, for Philadelphia based subsidiary Brandywine Global.
The Legg Mason Income Optimiser Fund, which will be team-managed by Gerhardt Herbert, Regina Borromeo and Brian Klosswill have an initial minimum investment of £1m.
The fund will be managed on a total return basis, with the aim of maximising income yield in all market conditions over a rolling 3-5 year period, while at the same time aiming to minimise capital erosion risk. The fund will invest in sovereign, emerging market, credit, mortgage and currency.
Adam Gent, head of UK sales at Legg Mason Global Asset Management, said: “The launch of the Legg Mason Income Optimiser Fund sees the first Brandywine Global managed fund to enter our UK onshore range.”
“This fund launch is the next step in building out the UK onshore fund range, and follows the Legg Mason US Equity Income Fund, which we added into the range late last year. We believe our UK product range now better demonstrates the breadth of expertise we have across our investment subsidiaries.”
