Mandarine and Jupiter mandates added to Skandia EBI fund
Marc Renaud of Mandarine Gestion and Cedric De Fonclare from Jupiter have been added as managers of mandates for the Skandia European Best Ideas fund.
The additions come after Tobias Klien of First Private was removed from the lineup. There are now 10 asset managers overseeing mandates on behalf of the fund.
Renaud and De Fonclare had been on Skandia EBI’s so-called ‘reserve bench’ of managers. Freeman-Shor said their elevation to managing mandates stemmed from their proven ability to run high conviction ten stock paper portfolios. Mandates are limited to 10 stocks each for the portfolio because of its overall adherence to theories around returns from high conviction investing.
Lee Freeman-Shor, lead manager of the EBI fund said “Marc Renaud is a value investor whose focus is on contrarian mean reversion opportunities. While the turnover of names tends to be low Renaud – who has nearly 30 years experience as an asset manager – is very active trading in the names he holds to exploit shorter term market movements along the way.”
“Cedric on the other hand has over the past ten years successfully applied a core/satellite approach to investing that has led to consistent outperformance through various market environments.”
