Mercer chooses UK head of investment consulting
Investment consultancy firm Mercer has promoted one of its long time employees to head up its UK business.
Patrick Race is charged with the day to day management of Mercer’s investment consultancy service within the UK, which includes directing its executive team.
He replaces Fiona Dunsire, who has held the position for six years. She is stepping back from her leadership to focus on client work, Mercer said.
Dunsire continues with Mercer’s workplace savings team and remains part of its UK investment consulting executive team.
Race meanwhile builds on his previous role at Mercer as head of investment consultancy for Birmingham, Windsor, Bristol, Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds and Edinburgh.
He has worked for the firm since 1996, starting out in Birmingham, where he eventually led its investment consultancy business from 2000 to 2004.
Race also previously led Mercer’s Midwest investment consulting business in the US, the country in which the firm holds its roots.
Race’s earlier years were spent as an actuary at Bacon and Woodrow, now Aon Hewitt. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and has a mathematics degree.
