Octopus Investments reunites former multi manager team

Octopus Investments, a UK firm specialising in mainly venture capital trust investments, has reunited a former multi manager team that worked together at Barclays with its latest hire.

Simon Reynolds, who moves from Australian multi manager Ipac, part of the AXA Group, began working alongside fund managers Colin Lunnon and Bish Limbu on 4 May.

He rejoined a multi manager team that previously worked together at Barclays in 2004.

Reynolds role involves generating ideas and feeding into the research process for all asset classes. Supporting Lunnon and Limbu, he will gradually take over some day-to-day portfolio management responsibilities.

Reynolds began his career at global consultancy firm Mercer in 1997, before leaving for AXA in 2002.

In 2005, he moved to Australia to work for Ipac before returning to the UK for his new role with Octopus.

The firm’s multi-manager division manages more than £1.2bn in funds, according to its chief investment officer and head of multi manager Lothar Mentel.
