Old Burlington is new name in UK alternatives space
Old Burlington is the name of a new UK alternatives boutique launched today, with an initial focus on the UK’s Enterprise Investment Scheme market.
The manager has launched two products, the Old Burlington Investments (OBI) Renewable Energy fund – which will invest in renewable energy and energy efficiency – and the Old Burlington Investments AIM Growth fund – which will provide access to new share issues on the London Stock Exchange’s Alternative Investment Market (AIM).
Both funds have been developed together with investment partners that are considered sector specialists. In the case of the Renewable Energy fund, the partner is Bluefield Partners LLP, and in the case of the AIM Growth fund it is Percipient Capital.
Brett Williams (pictured), managing partner of OBI, said: “We believe alternatives are poised for very significant growth over the next three years, partly because of legislative stimulus and partly because investors simply aren’t getting the returns they need from traditional asset classes.”
“We see a clear opportunity for a new business able to deliver access to potentially high return markets and we look forward to working with advisers to outline our professional approach and the ways in which our investments can add diversity and significant growth potential to their clients’ portfolios.”
