PowerShares appoints EMEA product head

Nicolas Samaran has been appointed head of Product Development EMEA at Invesco PowerShares.

Samaran previously was head of Investment Content at ETF competitor Source. He has also worked at Man Investments in Switzerland and at UBS Investment Bank in London.

At PowerShares he will work with Lorraine Wang, global head of ETF Products & Research, and Bryon Lake, head of Invesco PowerShares EMEA, to develop a range of ETFs for the European market. Responsibilities will include product research, development and project management.

Bryon Lake said: “Nicolas’s appointment reinforces our strategy to continue developing leading ETF products for the European market. His expertise and specialist knowledge of the industry is a great asset to our team, and as the ETF market continues to expand in Europe, we are committed to developing our team to best support new and existing product development.”
