Schroders appoints new head of Property
Schroders has announced that Duncan Owen, head of Property Investment, will succeed William Hill as head of Property with immediate effect.
Hill has spent almost a quarter of a century with Schroders, and will remain as an adviser to the manager on property matters, to assist in smoothing the handover to Owen.
Hill said: “After almost 25 years at Schroders, I feel that it is time for me to hand over the reins of the property business to Duncan. I look forward to continuing to help Schroders in my new role as an adviser to the firm, assisting most immediately with the proposed lease of One London Wall Place, which was announced yesterday.”
Owen joined Schroders in January 2012. Previously he was CEO of Invitsta. That business was formed via an IPO out of the asset management business of Insight Investment Management.
Schroders said it had some €12.4 billion of gross property assets under management as of 31 March 2013.
