Smith & Williamson strengthens global and US equities team

Smith & Williamson Investment Management has appointed Timothy Day and Chris Ford (pictured), formerly co-heads of Global Equities at Pictet Asset Management, to run a global equity and a US equity fund.

Day and Ford will start on 11 May. The pair will be managing one unit trust, the North American Trust with £89m (€120.4m) in assets, and one Dublin-listed global equity Ucits, the Mid Ocean World Investment Fund with £108m (€146.1m) in assets.

Prior to joining Smith & Williamson, Day has managed global equities at Pictet and Henderson Global Investors as well as US equities at Pictet and Fleming Investment Management, in both London and New York.

Ford has managed global and US equities at Pictet and, formerly, US equities at Schroders and US and technology equities at Aegon Asset Management.

Smith & Williamson posts £16bn (€21.6bn) of funds under management as at 31 March 2015.
