SWIP launches multi-manager team blogs via social networks
Scottish Widows Investment Partnership is to use Twitter and LinkedIn to distribute blogs, including discussion on strategy updates, directly from its multi-manager team
The team head of multi-manager is Mark Harries, who together with Simon Wood, multi-manager investment director joined SWIP from Cazenove, where they launched the first multi-asset multi-manager fund, the Cazenove Multi-Manager Diversity fund in 2005.
Current SWIP colleagues Lyndon Gill, Andrew Perham and Natalie Burnand also joined from Cazenove. Analysts Ian Barker, Paul Tompsett, and Louisa Haszard, joined through 2009-10. Together the team covers bonds, equities, commodities, infrastructure, property and hedge funds.
Managed funds they oversee include the SWIP Multi-Manager Diversity, SWIP Multi-Manager Select Boutiques and SWIP Multi-Manager Optimal Multi-Asset. The team also runs a number of manager of manager funds.
Harries said: “We are delighted to be able to provide our clients with timely and regular updates on the markets and our strategies through the Selection Specialists blog. It is a great opportunity for us to add real value to the relationships we have with advisers through discussing how we select funds, how we determine asset allocation and our thoughts on what is happening in the markets.”
