Thomas Miller launches onshore private client business
Thomas Miller Investment is launching a new onshore UK-based private client investment business to complement their existing operation in the Isle of Man.
Based in Edinburgh, the business will be led by Harry Morgan, former head of investment management at Adam & Company. He will have a 15-strong investment team behind him.
Further senior hires are planned to work with Morgan. Another team, headed by Charles Meaden, will provide business development support from London.
Thomas Miller Investment, part of the 127-year-old Thomas Miller Group, has funds under management of £2.7bn, and manages portfolios across a range of asset classes for institutional and private clients.
Mike Balfour, chief executive of Thomas Miller Investment, said Morgan’s appointment is testament to the appeal of the Group’s heritage and “our serious intent to develop a UK private client business which builds on our existing experience and expertise”.
He added that clients “want to preserve capital during difficult economic times” and the new team will offer a “quiet strength that makes them a very attractive company to work for”.
