Threadneedle Investments gets £3.35bn mandate from St James’s Place

Threadneedle Investments has been appointed by leading UK wealth manager St James’s Place to manage some £3.35bn in St James’s Place’s Strategic Managed fund, which holds a combination of global and domestic equities and bonds.

The funds will be managed by Threadneedle’s Stephen Thornber (Global Equity Income fund manager), Jim Cielinski (head of Fixed Income and pictured) and Richard Colwell (UK Equities fund manager).

St James’s Place today announced changes to its range of fund managers and mandates effective from 28 April 2014. Threadneedle Investments has been appointed to manage the Strategic Managed fund. Richard Colwell will lead the UK equity strategy, joined by Stephen Thornber managing global equities and Jim Cielinski on fixed income.

St. James’s Place Wealth Management provides face-to-face advice to over 400,000 clients based on their individual needs and circumstances, and adapts the advice as requirements change over time to ensure that recommendations remain appropriate.

St. James’s Place Wealth Management was founded in 1991 and listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1997. In March 2014, the company entered the FTSE 100 with a market capitalisation of £4.26bn and funds under management of £44.3bn. The Cirencester-based group is also the UK’s largest provider of ISAs with £7.68bn under management.
