Three new hires at RBC Wealth in London
RBC Wealth Management has bolstered its London team with two senior hires from UK and Portuguese-based wealth managers, and one from a discrete UK hedge fund.
George King joins RBC as head of portfolio strategy and investment consulting from Barclays Wealth, where he was a director on the investment advisory team.
He has also worked at Alliance Bernstein, latterly as senior vice president and a senior portfolio manager making asset allocation and investment policy decisions for clients.
He has also worked at Credit Suisse First Boston and Conseco Capital Management.
Josef Portelli joins as a head of discretionary fixed income portfolios from a similar position as a fixed income portfolio manager at ACPI Investment Managers, where he managed a multi currency fixed income fund, and bespoke portfolios.
ACPI historically ran money in hedge funds for ultra high net worth and other institutional clients, but recently branched into mass retail markets as well, by launching a series of Ucits-compliant products.
Finally, Pedro Ferreira is joining RBC from the private banking unit of Banco Comercial Português where he worked as an investment adviser. He will be a senior investment adviser at his new employer.
All three will report to Tracy Maeter (above), RBC Wealth Management’s head of investments.
She said: “These key appointments will help further strengthen our investments platform, which forms a crucial part of our integrated offering for high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients.”
