TwentyFour AM bolsters ABS team

London based fixed income boutique TwentyFour Asset Management has appointed John Lawler as asset backed securities portfolio manager, taking the ABS team to 10 investment professionals.

Lawler is to work on a number of the manager’s funds, including the Monument Bond Fund and TwentyFour Income Fund.

Lawler was most recently a managing director and head of European ABS Sales at Nomura. He previously held senior roles in ABS at RBS and Barclays.

Ben Hayward, head of ABS team at TwentyFour, said: “We are delighted that we are able to attract someone of John’s calibre to our team and it shows the current opportunity for people leaving the banking sector in favour of asset management.

“John’s 30 years’ experience on the sell-side will complement our existing skills and creates the optimal blend of portfolio management, structuring, trading, rating, issuer and quant backgrounds.”

Established in 2008, TwentyFour Asset Management currently manages £6.9bn (€8bn) in assets.
