German ZEW: M&A activies on the rise

Germany-based Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) anticipates a rise of M&A activities over the coming years.

The ZEW-ZEPHYR Index, which measures the number and volume of M&A activities, has reached a 2 year high as of December 2013. According to ZEW, he first four months of 2014 have seen a 10% rise of M&A activities compared to the same period last year.

The ZEW-ZEPHYR M&A Index is based on data provided by Bureau van Dijk and considers both the number, as well as volume of transations, considering the impact of stock market valuations on the value estimation during M&A transactions.
