AXA Investment Managers has appointed John Stainsby as head of UK Client Group, to lead institutional and wholesale distribution across the jurisdiction.
Previously, he was at JP Morgan Asset Management for 16 years, most recently as head of UK Institutional Business, following an earlier role as head of Global Equity Client Portfolio Management.
He has also worked at Lloyde George Management and spent 12 years at Schroders as an analyst and fund manager.
At AXA IM, Stainsby will report to Philippe d’Orgeval, head of UK, and Christophe Coquema, global head of Client Group. The former head of UK role was split in two in November 2015, with d’Orgeval now responsible for maintaining relationships with the UK regulator and implementing UK strategy.
Tim Gardener who took on the role as head of UK Client Group on a temporary basis will work closely with Stainsby to ensure a smooth transition.
