New York-headquartered JP Morgan Private Bank has appointed Borja Astarloa as head of Private Banking in Spain.
Astarloa, who is based in Madrid, will be responsible for the firm’s management operations and will drive its business development strategy.
He succeeds Juan Soto, who decided to pursue new challenges outside the company, and will report to CEO of JP Morgan Private Bank EMEA, Pablo Garnica.
Formerly, Astarloa was chief investment officer of JP Morgan Private Bank Spain. Since 1996, he has held a number of positions within the firm, including roles in JP Morgan AM.
