Catella, the Swedish asset manager, has appointed hedge fund veterans Martin Jonsson and Anders Wennberg to its management team on the Catella Hedgefond fund.
The appointments plug a gap that opened up recently with news that a number of Catella staff were leaving to work in a new asset management business set up by investment bank Carnegie.
Jonsson has 14 years of experience on the Zenit fund at Brummer & Partners – as an analyst, fund manager and investment manager. Previously, he worked at Investor AB – the Swedish investment company.
Wennberg has 19 years of experience, and also joins from the Zenit fund. Previously he worked on the RAM hedge fund and at Investor AB.
Erik Kjellgren, head of the Swedish fund operations at Catella, said the appointments “complete the overall equities team for Catella Hedgfond, ensures the succession that started with the earlier recruitment of Martin Nilsson and Henrik Gripenvik. Sven Thorén has been part of the hedge fund team for a long time.”
The latest recruits officially take up their positions on 1 September.
