Columbia Threadneedle Investments has expanded its Luxembourg multi-asset offering with the launch of Threadneedle (Lux) Euro Dynamic Real Return fund, a Ucits-compliant SICAV.
The fund is designed to deliver equity-like returns of 4% above European inflation over a three to five-year investment horizon with less than two-thirds of the volatility.
Maya Bhandari is the lead fund manager and will vary the asset allocation to exploit pricing differences between asset classes whilst seeking to control volatility in changing market conditions.
The fund takes a ‘go anywhere’ approach and can invest across a range of asset classes including equities, fixed income, commodities, Reits, cash, Threadneedle funds and alternative investments to provide a diversified portfolio.
Maya Bhandari joined Columbia Threadneedle in 2014, and has a wealth of multi-asset experience and is a member of the firm’s EMEA Asset Allocation Strategy Group. Toby Nangle, Columbia Threadneedle’s co-head of Global Asset Allocation and head of Multi Asset, EMEA is the deputy manager on the new fund.
Bhandari and Nangle are both responsible for managing a range of multi asset portfolios, as well as providing strategic and tactical input to the company’s asset allocation process.
The fund is initially registered in Luxembourg where it has received approval from the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), and is intended for distribution across other markets (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland) pending regulatory approval in each country.
