Neptune Investment Management has announced the appointment of Valentine Bugeja, most recently Sales manager at M&G Investments, as head of Switzerland.
Bugeja will have overall responsibility for growing Neptune’s business in Switzerland and will be based in Geneva, reporting to Charlie Parker (pictured), head of Distribution.
Commenting on the appointment, Parker said: “Valentine is an individual who has come through the ranks at M&G and proven herself able to forge valuable client relationships with great professionalism. We believe she has the right drive and enthusiasm to build a significant Swiss business for us and are delighted to welcome her to Neptune.
“Switzerland has weathered some storms in recent years and is also experiencing significant regulatory change. However, it remains home to a third of the world’s wealth and we believe clear winners are emerging from the changes the market is experiencing.
“In particular we see firms in the private banking and independent asset manager space that can be identified as those that have potential to thrive in the years ahead. Gratifyingly for Neptune, many of those winners are the sort of entrepreneurial boutique banks and wealth managers which share so much in common with us.
“We also believe it is a market that has an ever increasing need for open-architecture fund solutions. This is driven by ever-more demanding clients in the wake of new bank transparency rules. In that environment, we believe clients will hunt for exceptional performance backed by a robust investment process, and we hope to offer that in the years ahead.”
