Royal London, the UK’s largest mutual life and pensions’ company, has launched its own charitable foundation, The Royal London Foundation.
2011 is a significant year for Royal London as it celebrates its 150th anniversary, the firm said in a statement.
“The principles upon which the founders created Royal London are central to the aims of the Foundation, particularly the dedication to helping others improve their futures,” it said.
Stephen Shone, group finance director of Royal London and the executive sponsor of the Foundation, said: “We take corporate responsibility seriously and the Foundation provides a terrific opportunity to give something back to our members and the communities in which they live. With a fund of £2m available, we are very excited about the potential for it to make a positive difference to communities across the UK.”
The foundation will provide grants for education, health and for causes that help the elderly. More information can be found at www.royallondondoundation.co.uk.
