Schroders has appointed Francesco Murgiano to the role of head of Investment in its Wealth Management business in Italy, where he will be responsible for the management of the Portfolio Services function for discretionary and non discretionary clients.
Murgiano will start in his role during January 2017, taking up the responsibilities previously handled by Mario Spreafico, who decided to leave the group to pursue other professional opportunities.
Murgiano brings with him over 22 years’ experience within the asset management industry and currently acts as an adviser on the tactical asset allocation investment committee of Schroders’ Italian Wealth Management business.
Prior to this Murgiano was chairman and managing director of Independent Global Managers SIM. He spent 11 years’ at JP Morgan in Milan, including 3 years’ as head of the Asset and Fund Management Group of JP Morgan Italy.
At Schroders, as well as being responsible for the Portfolio Services function, Murgiano will chair the investment committee of Schroders Italy sim SpA.
