Hamburg-headquartered private bank Berenberg has named Mathieu Gilbert as head of Quantitative Asset Management.
He will report to Henning Gebhardt, in charge of the firm’s wealth and asset management division.
Gilbert succeeded Tindaro Siragusano in December last year, after Siragusano decided to accept a new challenge outside the company.
The recently appointed executive joined Berenberg in September 2016 to build up and lead the firm’s asset management activities in Switzerland.
Gilbert had previously worked for Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management for 16 years, most recently as the group’s CIO of Quantitative Management & Overlays.
“Mathieu Gilbert is an experienced and respected executive with an excellent international network of contacts and outstanding expertise in the field of overlay management,” Gebhardt said.
“We thank Mr Siragusano for his contributions to the expansion and internationalisation of our asset management activities,” he added.
