Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) has announced the appointment of Aaron Meder as CEO of America and Anton Eser as Chief Investment Officer. Both roles will report into Mark Zinkula, CEO of LGIM.
Meder will transition into the role over the next few months and will be based in Chicago. Meder first joined LGIM America in 2010 and played a pivotal role in the successful expansion of the US business. He moved to LGIM’s London office in 2013 and became head of Investment in 2015, responsible for LGIM’s investment, trading and product teams.
Eser, currently co-head of LGIM’s Global Fixed Income business, will succeed Meder when he takes up his new role in Chicago. Meder joined LGIM in 2006, and has been integral to building its fixed income offering with a team of over 70 investment professionals and £126bn in assets.
Colin Reedie, currently head of Euro Credit, will replace Meder as Co-head of Global Fixed Income, alongside John Bender, also CIO of US Fixed Income.
“Aaron’s strategic vision will help drive the next phase of growth in the US business, as it expands into new markets and further develops its capabilities. Anton brings a wealth of leadership and investment experience to the role of CIO. His deep knowledge of our business, clients and the industry will ensure we are well placed for the increasingly competitive industry in which we operate,” Zinkula said.
Bender has been acting as interim CEO of LGIMA since the departure of Robert Moore in September this year.
