Aviva Investors has launched the Aviva Investors Global Equity Endurance Fund, a high-conviction and low turnover strategy aiming to deliver returns over the long term.
The fund is managed by Giles Parkinson, supported by Richard Saldanha and Helen Driver in the global equities team.
Chris Murphy, Aviva’s global head of Equities, said: “The launch of this fund alongside our existing global equity strategies is part of the continual evolution and strengthening of our equity proposition and expanding investment team. The new fund reinforces our commitment to becoming a leader in outcome-oriented solutions in response to changing client needs.”
Parkinson said the fund looks at quality companies and invests in a small number of superior and resilient firms “that have stood the test of time and we believe will continue to do so indefinitely”.
“Given the long-term and enduring nature of these businesses, we cite the fund’s investment horizon as ‘over five years.’ However, we manage this strategy such that clients can hold the fund indefinitely, which we believe makes it a compelling choice as a core long-term investment.
“The portfolio is unconstrained, allowing us to invest without restriction; choosing the very best businesses regardless of sector classification or geographic listing,” he added.
The fund is domiciled in Luxembourg with initial retail and institutional share classes in US dollars.
Aviva Investors, the asset management arm of insurer Aviva, had £319bn (€370.5bn) of assets under management as at 30 June 2016.
