Generali Investments has promoted Francesco Martorana (pictured) to the role of head of Investments, effective 2 October 2017.
Martorana joined Generali in November 2013. He was hitherto head of Group Asset Liability Management & Strategic Asset Allocation for the general account assets.
It is understood that the firm’s current head of Investments Anna Khazen is leaving to pursue new opportunities.
Based in Milan, Martorana will report to Generali Investments’ CEO Santo Borsellino, and will oversee a 85-strong team of investment professionals in Paris, Trieste, Cologne and Milan.
Before joining Generali, he worked at Allianz SE, Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan Chase.
Following Martorana’s appointment, Anna Maria Reforgiato Recupero has joined Generali Investments as head of Insurance & Liability Driven Investors (LDI) Solutions.
In her newly created role, she started on 18 September, she will be developing the framework of the new asset management strategy for Generali in Europe, with a focus on liability driven investors such as insurance companies and pension funds.
Based in Milan, she will report to Martorana.
Reforgiato Recupero was most recently executive director, investment and saving solutions at Morgan Stanley. Prior to that, she worked as executive director, equities and fund derivatives at Goldman Sachs International.
Generali Investments had €452bn of assets under management as of 30 June 2017.
