Gaiser comes back to Columbia Threadneedle as head of PM High Yield EMEA

Columbia Threadneedle Investments has appointed Roman Gaiser as head of Portfolio Management, High Yield, EMEA.
Gasier succeeds Michael Poole, current Head of High Yield Portfolio Management, EMEA, who has resigned from Columbia Threadneedle to relocate to his family home in the US.
London-based and reporting to head of High Yield, EMEA Barrie Whitman, Gaiser will manage a number of European High Yield portfolios, including the Threadneedle European High Yield Bond Fund.
Gaiser worked previously as head of High Yield at Pictet Asset Management, where he built and led the high yield team, managing several European high yield funds including a short duration strategy.
Prior to this, he worked at Columbia Threadneedle as a portfolio manager in the European high yield team for six years. He also worked as a portfolio manager at F&C in London and an analyst for Bankgesellschaft in Berlin.
Mark Burgess, Deputy Global CIO and CIO, EMEA at Columbia Threadneedle Investments commented: “We are delighted that Gaiser is re-joining the European High Yield team at Columbia Threadneedle. He previously worked with many of the team here and his style of investing in this asset class aligns with our approach. He brings with him extensive experience as a senior portfolio manager, managing a wide range of strategies. We have a well-established and highly regarded high yield franchise in EMEA, led by Barrie Whitman, and his appointment will continue to strengthen this capability as we deliver for our clients.”
Columbia Threadneedle manages £3.8bn (€4.3bn) in European high yield strategies across pooled and segregated mandates.
The London-based high yield team comprises eight investment professionals and is part of the 155-strong global fixed income team at Columbia Threadneedle Investments.
