Schroders has appointed Reto Schwager as chief executive officer of its Zurich-headquartered private equity subsidiary Schroder Adveq.
Schwager joins from Robeco, where he most recently worked as head of Private Equity at Robeco and member of the executive committee of RobecoSAM.
Prior to that, he worked among others as member of the executive board at Partners Group. Before that he was among others partner and member of the executive board at Partners Group and chairman of AIG Investments European offering.
Based in Zurich, Schwager will report to Stephen Mills, executive chairman of Schroder Adveq. He succeeds Sven Liden in the role of CEO and will join the company on 01 January 2018. In the interim Stephen Mills will assume his responsibilities.
Private equity investor Schroder Adveq currently manages approximately USD8bn (€6.8bn) on behalf of its institutional clients, it employs about 100 people and has offices in Zurich, Frankfurt, London, Jersey, New York, Beijing and Hong Kong.
