US asset management giant BlackRock has appointed Henri Chabadel (pictured) as chief investment officer for France, Belgium and Luxembourg, the firm announced.
Chabadel, who recently left Groupama Asset Management where he was head of Multi-Assets, will be based in Paris and provide clients with a customised and direct access to BlackRock’s investment and portfolio construction expertises. This newly created role aims at reinforcing BlackRock’s presence in France.
Chabadel has worked 10 years at Groupama AM where he has also been head of Investment Solutions and of the Sigma fund range (absolute and total return).
Prior to that, he worked at HSBC Private Bank as head of Risk Management and multi assets portfolio manager. Chabadel started his career in the general inspection department of Société Générale in 1998.
Stéphane Lapiquonne, CEO of BlackRock France, Belgium and Luxembourg, said Chabadel brings deep experience and knowledge of the French market to the firm.
Mason Woodworth, head of Multi Asset Solutions for the European distribution platforms of BlackRock, added clients ever more ask customised solutions and that he expects this trend to pursue.
“By using an approach that takes into account clients’ needs, that includes local market dynamics and gathers BlackRock’s worldwide investment and research platform, we demonstrate our commitment towards clients in France and other European markets,” he said.
BlackRock managed $6.31trn (€5.47trn) as of 31 March 2018.
