Milwaukee-headquartered asset manager Artisan Partners has made its Artisan Global Discovery strategy available to European investors after it launched it in the US market at the end of August 2017.
The strategy, managed by the US firm’s growth team, can be accessed through a separate account basis or via the Ireland-domiciled Ucits fund Artisan Global Discovery.
Artisan Partners’s growth team is led by Jason White as lead portfolio manager with James Hamel, Matthew Kamm and Craigh Cepukenas being portfolio managers. Some $30.6bn (€26.3bn) in assets were managed by the unit as of 30 September 2017.
Commenting on the strategy, White said: “Our objective is to capitalise on our team’s 10-plus years’ experience investing in companies all over the world via the Global Opportunities Strategy. Combined with our 20-plus years’ experience in mid-cap growth investing, we believe we will be able to offer a focused and highly flexible portfolio of companies representing some of our best ideas across the global economy.”
Andrew Marks, managing director and head of EMEA Distribution, added: “We are delighted to announce the launch of the Artisan Global Discovery Strategy. This is the fourth strategy from the Growth team and is a natural extension of their research platform. The strategy will build on the experience and success of the team and provides increased market-cap flexibility. We are confident the team will again add meaningful value with this new strategy.”
As of end September 2017, investors based outside the US accounted for 19% of the firm’s total AUM ($113.7bn), including $3.4bn (€2.9bn) in its Irish Ucits fund range.
