London-headquartered Sanlam UK has appointed Charlie Parker as head of portfolio management for its wealth management division.
In his new position, Parker will be responsible for contributing to the WM division’s business development and will be working closely with Sanlam WM CEO John White.
Parker joins Sanlam from Neptune Investment Management, where he has been working as head of asset management during the last three years. Prior to that, he had worked as the Citywire Financial Publishers’s director, after having worked as a journalist for the media outlet.
Charlie Parker, head of portfolio management at Sanlam UK, said: “Portfolio management is going through complex challenges as the sector deals with regulatory changes and I am looking forward to heading up this division at Sanlam and developing a proposition that meets the specific needs of our clients.”
John White, CEO of Sanlam’s wealth division, added: “ I look forward to working with Parker and bringing his significant skill-set to fruition as we seek to grow our business and deliver a high quality service to our clients.”
The announcement comes after the company announced Tavistock Financial’s acquisition in August, which brought the adding of some 160 advisers to its network. It also announced Penny Lovell’s appointment as the chief executive officer for its new private office.
