LBPAM sets up research unit
Paris-based La Banque Postale Asset Management (LBPAM) has established a research division at the start of the year that will be overseen by Iain Bremner, who was hitherto the firm’s head of Credit and Fixed Income.
LBPAM said the unit aims to provide quick and precise market analysis to its fund managers and help them generating alpha.
The research department is split in three sub-divisions : strategy for global macro and market analysis; quantitative analysis to elaborate new models for portfolio optimisation, allocation and risk management purposes; and specific analysis that gather equity and credit research teams and which will be responsible for LBPAM’s SRI research.
The division will report to the company’s head of Asset Management Vincent Cornet.
LBPAM also explained that it seeks to promote its internal research and manage external research costs, specifying it would target specific external researches.
It is understood that Alexandre Caminade has taken over the role of head of Fixed Income and Credit at LBPAM.
LBPAM had €220bn of assets under management as of end 2017.
