Jacques Chahine, the founder of Luxembourg asset manager J.Chahine Capital, has sold his share in the investment firm’s capital to Paris-based boutique Iris Finance International.
Speaking to InvestmentEurope, François Garcin, general manager of J.Chahine Capital, has confirmed the deal took place in January 2017.
He says Jacques Chahine wanted to ensure the financial sustainability of the company while pursuing the development of the asset management’s activities as well as the improvement of quantitative models implemented by the teams of J.Chahine Capital.
This move will enable J.Chahine Capital to speed up its development and to remain independent. The transaction will not require its integration to Iris Finance International.
It is understood the management team will remain unchanged. J.Chahine Capital’s chief investment officer and partner Julien Bernier will continue to head the management of the firm’s quantitative strategies alongside Aymar de Léotoing and recently appointed Mathias Lahmani.
Also Jacques Chahine will remain chairman of the Luxembourg-domiciled Digital Funds Sicav, launched in 1998.
The Chahine Capital and Digital Funds’ brands will be retained.
