London-based investment firm Pacific Asset Management, the asset management of Pacific Investments Group, is set to launch a new emerging markets long only Ucits fund in November 2017.
This follows the partnership stricken in May 2017 between Pacific Asset Management and EM equity boutique North of South Capital, established by Matt Linsey in 2004.
The new Pacific EM fund will be named Pacific North of South EM All Cap Equity and will follow the same investment process that Linsey and his team have developed for years.
Also Pacific AM has appointed Paul McLernon as chief operating officer and Ben Sears as head of UK Adviser Strategy.
McLernon will take up his new duties in early November, joining from Pensato Capital where he was chief operating officer and equity partner. Before serving at Pensato, he spent 13 years at Goldman Sachs, where he was part of the prime brokerage and equity finance trading business.
Sears started in late September. He joined from Shore Capital having previously worked alongside Matt Lamb for eight years at GAM. Sears will spearhead the manager’s expansion into the UK market.
Matthew Lamb, CEO of Pacific Asset Management said, “We have made significant progress since the multi-asset funds launched in January, not only from an AuM perspective but also by continuing to build a flexible, robust infrastructure, supported by some of the most talented people in the industry. I am delighted that Paul and Ben are joining the business. Their arrival will help us to continue to focus on our primary goal of delivering outstanding investment solutions to our clients.”
Pacific Investments Group’s asset management businesses currently manage over $20bn (€17bn) in assets.
