Spanish Bankia’s asset management division Bankia Fondos has launched Bankia Gestión Valor, a fund of funds aimed at its private banking retail clients.
The fund – an actively managed fund of funds – will be invested in funds implementing value investing strategies, which belonging to those Spanish independent boutiques that invest either in Spain, Europe or globally and present a proven track record.
The new investment strategy, focused on Spanish and independent value investing managers, replicates the investment style unveiled by Bankia in 2014 with the launch of Bankia Gestión de Autor – a fund of funds invested in Spanish boutiques also for private banking clients, that has gathered some €80m in AUM since inception.
Bankia Fondos will offer two alternatives for those retail clients who want to invest in the new strategy: the Portfolio class, aimed exclusively at private banking clients holding portfolio management contracts; and the Universal class, through which all private banking clients can invest as long as they pour the entry fee of €100.
“Bankia Gestión Valor is an exclusive equity strategy that offers added value to an asset class expected to continue offering an attractive revaluation in the mid-term, given the economic cycle strength and the current monetary policies being carried out. This investment strategy totally fits with private banking clients as it increases the diversification of portfolios,”the company said.
