Spanish investors are increasingly exploring alternative funds as a way of investment that could outperform given the low interest rate environment markets are currently facing.
Morningstar, which recorded data from 100 of those funds, has reported that 55% of the 100 alternative funds analysed have outperformed their benchmarks during the first half of 2017.
Multi-managed fund Renta 4 Multigestión Ítaca Global Macro tops the list having achieved a net return of 14.44% over the period. The second rank finds Global Managers Funds managed by A&G Fondos (net return of 6.26% in H1 2017), followed by Annualcycles Strategies of Gesiuris (net return of 6.12% in H1 2017).
Renta 4 Gestora, Allianz Popular AM and Abante Asesores Gestión have all managed to put two of their funds in the top 20 of Morningstar’s study.
