Berenberg, the privately owned bank, looks set to continue the hiring spree that has seen it add some 29 recruits so far in 2015 to its European equities sales and research teams alone, with an additional seven hires in the US in sales and execution.
The bank notes recent hires such as Chris Bowman to lead the UK corporate broking team and its focus on UK IPOs; Simon Toennessen, a capital goods analyst from Credit Suisse; Alessandro Abate, metals analyst from JP Morgan, and Charlotte Keyworth from Canaccord Genuity.
Others include Alexandara Clement, who is in UK small cap equity sales; Victoria Maigrot, consumer specialists sales, who joined from BlackRock; and Alex Chevassus from Nomura in Paris.
Scott Duxbury, Bob Spillane and Tristan Hedle have joined the New York office.
David Mortlock, global head of Equities and head of the London office, said: “The continued expansion of our team in the first half of 2015 reflects the ongoing success and ambition of the bank in the UK, Europe and US. We are delighted to welcome exciting new talent into the business to help maintain this momentum as Berenberg’s profile continues to grow globally. We still see great opportunities in both cash equities and ECM, driven by our focus on high quality content and real commitment to advising our clients.”
