François Fillon, former French Prime Minister and candidate of right-wing party Les Républicains at the last French presidential election, is set to join Paris-based asset management group Tikehau Capital as partner.
Fillon, who has been beaten at the first round of the presidential election and faced a tough campaign, will take up his duties as from 1 September 2017, the company said in a statement.
Tikehau Capital, which has been listed on Euronext Paris since March this year, added that Fillon’s international experience and its strong knowledge of French and European economic issues will be major edges to help Tikehau’s development.
The asset management group has plans to manage over €20bn of assets by 2020 and to expand itself globally, especially in Europe and North America.
Tikehau Capital, which has welcomed new shareholders such as AXA IM through recent share capital increases, is considering opportunities for external growth in several strategies in France and abroad.
Tikehau Capital was established in 2004 and manages assets totalling nearly €10bn.
