Franklin Templeton Investments has hired Caroline Baron as head of ETF Sales for the EMEA region.
Baron, who joined the firm late January, is based in London and will support the manager’s global ETF rollout across Europe and the recent launch of the Franklin LibertyShares range in Frankfurt and London respectively. She reports to Vivek Kudva, managing director, EMEA & India.
Baron’s primary focus will be to generate and retain assets within the Franklin LibertyShares product suite ($1.4bn in assets under management as of 31 January 2018).
She joins from Invesco PowerShares where she was head of UK Distribution focusing on Smart Beta strategies. Prior to this, Baron worked at BlackRock iShares as director of wealth.
Vivek Kudva, managing director, EMEA & India, commented: “We are delighted to have Caroline join us to help drive sales across the EMEA region as we continue to extend our ETF offering across Europe. Her extensive background in the ETF space and in-depth knowledge of factor investing make her an ideal candidate for this role. We look forward to working with Caroline as we continue to grow our ETF business.”
Patrick O’Connor, head of Global ETFs, commented: “Caroline’s appointment as Head of ETF Sales in the EMEA region further demonstrates our commitment to building our ETF offering across Europe. Our Franklin LibertyShares platform aims to help investors achieve specific investment outcomes such as strong risk-adjusted returns, lower volatility and downside protection. As ETFs continue to grow in popularity and importance, we plan to continue to meet investor needs and broaden our capabilities in the region.”
