Brussels-headquartered asset manager Candriam Investors Group has been awarded the French-government backed SRI label for five of its funds including three equity funds, a bond fund and a global high yield fund.
“The certification of the five Candriam SRI funds once again underlines our commitment to a sustainable and responsible economy. Investments today must clearly demonstrate their positive impact both on the environment and society in general. Candriam wants to play an active part in this market development. The SRI label is therefore an excellent initiative which guarantees the quality of the funds’ SRI approach while making them more accessible and transparent to investors”, said Naïm Abou-Jaoudé, chief executive officer of Candriam Investors Group and chairman of New York Life Investment Management International, which owns the asset manager.
SRI currently accounts for over 25% of Candriam’s total assets under management. The 44-strong SRI unit at Candriam is led by Wim Van Hyfte, global head of Responsible Investments and Isabelle Cabie, global head of Responsible Development.
A total of 119 funds with €22bn of assets under management have obtained the French public SRI label.
